,

Overview

Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?
CAP is interested in being a trustee because this will enable the youth who are trained by CAP in technical skills and entrepreneurship, have access to funding for their small enterprises in order to grow them to a level which will allow them also become employers of their peers. This will be in tune with CAP's organizational goal of empowering youth by reducing vulnerability among them in Kenya through skills and financial literacy training and micro-enterprise development.
What is the mission of your organization?
Our mission is: To build safer, healthier and productive communities of young people capable of supporting self-directed growth and positive citizenship. Our Vision: CAP YEI’s vision is to be an end- to-end community based solutions provider in linking quality learning and sustainable livelihood for vulnerable communities of children and young people.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?
We will endorse borrowers who have completed our financial literacy training program and are enrolled in our alumni follow-up program in conjunction with our institutional partners. These borrowers will also be members of our alumni business clubs with whom we have developed a support and tracking system. They will have demonstrated sustainability in business of more at least 3 months and a revenue of more than Ksh. 3000 per week with an average saving of more than Ksh. 1500 per week. Their suitability is measured by the fact that they can already save more than weekly payments due by KIVA and they can be followed up by CAP.
