Personal Story

My name is Janet Imo Kamar. I was born in Teso and my parents were peasant farmers. i have 4 siblings of which all have their own families. I grew up in a rural village and it took my parents a lot of effort and hard work to educate me and the other kids. I went to school i Amagoro primary school and later joined Kulanya girls secondary school. Thereafter i was selected to join the medical school where i trained as a nurse.

Today am engaged in running a clinic. I started the clinic more than 5 years ago. in the beginning it was very challenging as i had done that kind of business before. Through hard work and support from SHF i have now a successful business.

Business Description

I am engagend in providing health care services in a rural community. i started the clinic in June 2006. My main aim is to help the community attain good health and maintain wellness within the family. I also want to get money to sustain myself and my family.

Most of my clients are mothers and children.

In future i want to offer comprehensive services for children and family including Immunization, Ante natal care, laboratory services as well as nutrition services.

What is the purpose of this loan?

the purpose of the loan is to assist me buy equipment that will enable me expand my services. these include a fridge, and bay weighing scale.

As a result the number of patients will increase.
