Kip and his partner Matt run a weekly market in downtown Vallejo, Vallejo Gardens, that serves as a community commons space for local food entrepreneurs to test and sell their products. Vallejo Gardens serves as an incubator for the citizens of Vallejo and the surrounding areas to introduce their visionary products, whether food, arts or crafts to the marketplace and test the viability of their products. Similar to the current pop-up trends in restaurants and retail, Vallejo Gardens provides a unique forum for local residents to develop, experiment with, and test the market viability including profitability of new food products. Some recent participants include Rajas Tandoor (Gourmet Indian Food), Moschetti’s Coffee (Local Gourmet Coffee), La Crepe a moi (The Most Delicious Sweet & Savory Crepes In The Bay Area) The Granola Garden (Delectable Organic Granola Produced Locally), and Just A Simple Cupcake (Simply The Best Cupcake In Vallejo). The opportunity to provide local purveyors with a marketplace to showcase their unique and organic products supports Vallejo Garden's social mission of revitalizing the downtown Vallejo area through provision of local goods and the resulting increase in jobs and economic opportunity for local residents.
