Personal Story

I was born in Kisii District, Manga location in a family of 10 children. My father was a businessman and my mother was a stay at home mum but working in the farm. Growing up was hard because my father had 3 wives and it was hard for him to provide for all families. Although growing up was hard and getting school fees was tough I managed to go up to to form 6 (A Levels) and also to college where I got a clearing & forwarding diploma. After completing college I didn't manage to get a job so I decided to start a business. I am currently doing my business in Kibera and I hope to grow it to become a household name in Nairobi and other counties in country.

Business Description

I have a shop in Kibera Olympic I sell household products and I am also an Agent with Airtel Money and Yu cash. I sell my products and offer my services to people in Kibera. I started the business in September of 1995 and it has been great. I love doing it because I get to interact with people quite often. My biggest challenge is capital for enlarging the business.

What is the purpose of this loan?

I want to buy a smart phone which will help me work effectively and efficiently with Sasa Africa. I am their Agent and with the smart phone I will be able to take photos and post them on the internet to get buyers for their products. Being an Agent with Sasa Africa I will get paid by them and I will also get more customers to use my services and buy my products in turn thus increasing my revenues and profitability. This will be great not only for my business but my family too.
