Personal Story

I came up with the idea for Paper Clouds Apparel while visiting my mother, a special needs bus driver in Northern California. I saw a picture on her fridge and asked her about it. A little girl on her route would draw the whole ride to school and often give them to my mother when she arrived at school. This was one of her drawings. I spent the whole night mesmerized by the drawing. The next morning I woke up with the idea for Paper Clouds Apparel !

Business Description

Paper Clouds Apparel raises funds for special needs schools and organizations while showcasing the creative minds and artistic abilities of individuals with special needs. We do this by taking a piece of artwork an individual with special needs has created and then transfer the art to a Eco-friendly, super soft, bamboo shirt. 50% of the profit from every Paper Clouds Apparel shirt sold goes to the special needs school/organization that gave us the art. For the past 2+ years we were teamed up with Valleylife, Arizona's oldest habilitation center helping over 450 individuals with special needs valley wide. My goal when I started Paper Clouds Apparel was to help special needs schools/organizations in all 50 states. Currently we have 18 special needs schools/organizations on our roster. Ranging in size from the massive Autism Speaks organization to a small special needs group home on Phoenix called Trilogy which has 28 members. Right now we are in the process of having our new website built for us and going through the tough process of selecting which pieces of art will become Paper Clouds Apparel shirts. In addition to raising funds for special needs schools and organizations, Paper Clouds Apparel is hiring individuals with special needs to package all of our shirts. Thus providing a job, a steady source of income, and a real sense of pride and independence for some amazing individuals. Thanks for learning a little about Paper Clouds Apparel

What is the purpose of this loan?

This loan will be used to help me spread awareness of what I am doing with Paper Clouds Apparel. I will be using this loan to pay for our new and updated website. This new website will have features that will draw consumers in. We will be selling six new shirts every two weeks for a different special needs school/organization. So there will be a video from each new project that will make them want to help and get one of their shirts. The shirts will also only be available for the two week period. Our site will have a clock counting down the time those shirts are available. Making the shirts limited edition is HUGE for accumulating impulse buys ! The loan will make all these ideas come to life and give Paper Clouds Apparel the ability to help MILLIONS of individuals with special needs.
